Crimson Knights roll past Walton in mismatched field hockey contest

WALTON – The Walton Warriors stood no chance against the formidable ranks of the Crimson Knights of Afton.
Afton’s varsity field hockey team ripped open the Warriors – shooting 27 shots on goal and having 15 corners. Walton managed a mere one shot and one corner.
Scoring a hat-trick (three goals) for Afton in the win was Madison Baciuska, followed by Casey East (two assists) and Janelle Volk who each managed brace (two goals) on the night. Abby Beaulieu and Tracy Hatton each added a goal – while Makaela Mills added two assists.
Scoring Afton’s lone goal and avoiding the shutout was Jordan Johnston who took the assist from Lauren Frank.
Makayla Houle and Jordan Nichols of Afton, each saw time in the net – however, neither managed to make a save. On the other side, Walton’s Riley McAdams was forced into action making 18 saves.
Next up for Afton field hockey, they will be home against Harpursville on Wednesday, September 20, at 4:30 p.m.
