Bobcat Volleyball diggs a win in nice fashion

BINGHAMTON – Traveling out of Chenango County and heading to the Binghamton area was no problem for the mighty Bainbridge-Guilford volleyball team who just recently defeated Chenango Valley at 3-0.

In the win on the road on Tuesday, September 19, B-G’s solid defensive efforts held the CV Warriors under 13 points in all three sets.

The lady Bobcats handily won, taking the first set at 25-10. In the second set, CV attempted to bite back, fighting to a 25-13 score. With all the fight clawed out of them, CV succumbed to a 25-9 final set.

“CV played a lot tougher than the scores indicate. There were several long rallies and CV was scrappy throughout the match. The B-G girls played a decent game tonight. Good serves and scrappy play,” said Bainbridge-Guilford head coach Tami Selfridge.

B-G saw three girls standout in the Tuesday evening win – Abigail Selfridge with two aces, eight kills, eight assists and five digs; Alexis Carr with one ace, two blocks, four kills and 12 digs; and Erica Selfridge with two aces, 13 assists, one kill and seven digs.

CV saw a few standouts in the loss, Hannah Larson with one ace, Tara Terpstra with five aces, Riley Buckland with five assists, and Alyvia Brown with 14 digs.
