UV takes two W’s; Oxford has tough outing at Delhi

EDMESTON – Unadilla Valley topped the visiting Trojans with a score of 244-274 on Thursday, September 21st at Red Pines.
Andrew Jackson recorded his career low score of 38, leading the Storm and grabbing the overall medalist score for the match. Teammate Sam Loeffler finished a strong round, positing a score of 45.
Wyatt Harrison of the Trojans landed the top medalist position with a 47, and two strokes lower than teammate Logan Pixley, who finished with a 49 for the match.
Greene’s final scorecard also included Alex Sandy (58), Derrick Heisler (59) and Nick Brady (61) for the Thursday evening match.
Brandon Kneale shot a 50 for his spot in the top-five for UV. Gavin Church finished with a 54 as he grabbed the fourth spot as Drew Emrich posted at 57 to snag the last spot.
The Storm followed suite from one day before with their match Friday topping Desposit-Hancock 244-264 at Red Pines in Edmeston.
Jackson played well on the Storm’s home course as he finished with a score of 38, just two stroke over the par 36 front nine. Jackson ended with the overall lowest score of the match for both teams and tying his career low from just one match ago.
Also of the helping UV to the win was Kneale as he posted a 46. Teammate Loeffler followed Kneale with his score of a 48. Church and Emrich rounded out the Storm’s top-five score card with a 53 and 58.
Deposit-Hancock’s top medalist was Brennan Karcher, who recorded a 47 during the evening match on Friday.
UV looks to improve on their 8-4 record when they host Oxford on Tuesday, September 26 at 4 p.m.

Oxford 284, Delhi 279

DELHI – Playing on front nine of the College Golf Course at Delhi, Oxford had a tough round against the host Delhi, losing 279-284.
Garrett Depew led the Blackhawks with a 50 as teammates Jake Marrone and Zach Ford each finished with a 56. Jason Davis, normally the top golfer for Oxford, had an off day as his line read 60 on the scorecard. Christian Paden rounded out the Blackhawks top-five with a 62.
Delhi wad led by Ben AreHart, tallying a score of 37, just one stroke over the par 36 for the nine holes. Teammate Miles Philion posted a 39 for the afternoon round.
Oxford has back to back matches to start the week as they host Sidney on Monday then travel to Red Pines to take on Unadilla Valley. Both matches are scheduled for 4 p.m.
