NHS student honored as Commended Student in National Merit Scholarship Program

NORWICH – Norwich High School student Graham Rudy has been named a Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP) after his excellent performance on the Preliminary SATs.


Son of Jeff and Tami Rudy, Graham is one of 34,000 students nationwide to receive this honor, placing among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the PSATs.


NHS Principal Kisten Giglio said this is the first time a Norwich student has received this honor since 2011.


"The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," said a spokesperson for the NMSP.
