Undefeated Seton Saints down Norwich at 7-0 despite improved Tornado play

NORWICH – Norwich tennis lost yet another matchup with Seton Catholic Central, getting swept again at 7-0.

However, when the match is truly observed, one can see that some major improvements have been made for Norwich.

“From a match score point we didn’t win a point but we sure played hard. Seton came in thinking this was going to be easy,” said Norwich head coach John Stewart. “Based on the first match where we only won 14 games total. Tonight, we took 37 plus games, with two tie-breakers. We played a good match tonight against an undefeated Seton team. We have improved so much individually.”

Seton Catholic moves to a perfect 10-0 on the season, leading the STAC East Division for 2017 thus far – two of Norwich’s now three losses have come at the hands of Seton.

“First and second doubles both had the closest matches of the night. First doubles lost the first set in a tie-breaker. We had a set point on them but could not convert. In the second set, we were up 4-3 and the Seton team came from behind to take the next three games,” said coach Stewart.
