Afton field hockey blanks the Warriors

SIDNEY – The Sidney Warriors invited the mighty Crimson Knights into their realm, a move that resulted in Afton scoring five goals for the shutout win on Wednesday.

12 shots on goal and 15 corners, Afton field hockey claimed their 10th win of the 2017 season with their big win over host Sidney on Wednesday, September 27.

Better yet, better that 15 shots for five goals and a win – Afton’s defense held Sidney to no shots on goal and just five corners – a true crushing.

Scoring for Afton was Madison Baciuska (two goals, one assist), Abby Beaulieu (one goal), Sam Schoelier (one goal), Janelle Volk (one goal), and Makaela Mills (one assist).

The Crimson Knights win came early, with four of their five goals being scored in the opening half – before tacking on one more in the later half.

With no shots on goal, Afton’s goalkeeper’s – Makayla Houle and Jordan Nichols – were asked and made no saves.
