SIDNEY – With the Harpursville-Hornets battling with Vestal – and with Vestal claiming first place – it was between the host team in Sidney and Sherburne-Earlville to fight for the coveted third place spot.

Vestal took first in the 2017 Sidney Field hockey tournament when they downed Harpursville in overtime at 2-1.

It was two second half goals from Sidney that helped Sidney squeeze by in the consolation game played on Saturday, September 30.
