Lady Trojans lose a close meet with Johnson City Wildcats

GREENE – Losing by just 12 points, Greene finished an evenly matched meet with STAC opponent Johnson City 92-80.
Johnson City placed their divers 1-2-3 since Greene doesn’t not have any, accruing 13 points towards the team point total. Taking the event away, the meet was in favor of the Trojans, who took home firsts in several events.
One of those events was the 50 Yard Freestyle taken by Senior Katie Delgado with a time of 27.43.
Following the diving, Greene’s Kady Yanusas’ 1:08.74 took first place in the 100 Yard Freestyle, beating out the Wildcats Emily Boothe by one second.
Both the 200 Yard and 400 Yard Freestyle Relay teams brought first place points to the team total for Greene. The 200 Yard team was comprised of Trojans Kelly Darling, Sophia Hanselman, Yanusas and Delgado that swam to a time of 2:06.06. Ella Prindle, Darling, Danika Blasko and Yanusas made up the 5:20.48 winning team of the 400 Yard Relay.
Greene celebrated seniors Darling and Delgado Tuesday as it was the Trojans last home meet of the season. They travel to Windsor a week after for a non-league meet that is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
