Norwich Police and Fire Departments sponsor cornhole tournament Saturday

NORWICH – Norwich Police Department, Norwich Fire Department, and Empire Cornhole are sponsoring a cornhole tournament this Saturday, October 7 in Norwich's West Park to raise money to support breast cancer awareness.


The tournament kicks-off at 9:30 a.m. rain or shine at the Saturdays in the Park with Chobani market. In the event of inclement weather, the tournament will take to the Norwich Fire Station.


The tournament's entry fee is $20 and there will be a 50/50 cash payout for first and second place. Pre-signups are encouraged, but not required: walk-ins are welcome to play.

"It's a great day to get the community involved with Saturdays in the Park with Chobani and also to get your friends together to help donate money for breast cancer awareness," said event coordinator Mindy Chawgo.
