Spirit of the Wolf at Wolf Mt. Sunday
SMYRNA – Honoring the Spirit of the Wolf, the Wolf Mountain Nature Center in Smyrna will be hosting it's 11th annual event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Assistant Animal Caretaker Pam Mennis said the event was taking place during National Wolf Awareness week. The event has become a popular attraction since the center opened it doors in 2007.
The center currently has 14 wolves consisting of several sub-species including Gray, Alaskan, Arctic, Timber and Tundra. The center also has Arctic Foxes and Coyotes.
Along with the traditional feeding of the packs with Jack-o-lanterns filled with game meat, the day will included several other activities including a dog sled demonstration, the New York State Department of Conservation K-9 unit demonstrations and the Utica Zoo-mobile.
