M-E plunges ahead late for Marauder second half meltdown loss

MORRISVILLE – Sherburne-Earlville is doing all the little things right, they are just waiting for their break – and until then, the bitter taste of a road loss at the hands of their league Morrisville-Eaton at 3-1 will have to suffice for motivation going forward.

S-E field hockey traveled North to play at Morrisville State College on Tuesday, October 11, and battled their way to a solid 1-0 at the half.

With 5:39 left in the first half, the lady Marauders took the lead when Natalie Stewart’s shot found the back of the cage.

Halftime proved to be the deal breaker for a potential S-E win – as Morrisville-Eaton made some major changes, resulting in a three-goal swing in their favor.

The charge of goals scored in the second half proved to blind the Marauders – who failed to find the cage in the second half.
