Saturdays in the Park with Chobani season ending
NORWICH – Saturdays in the Park with Chobani will go out with a bang this Saturday for the final downtown harvest market of the season as culinary star Julie Taboulie will make her way to downtown Norwich for a meet and greet in the park.
Taboulie is host of the PBS series Julie Taboulie's Lebanese Kitchen, and author of the new cookbook Julie Taboulie's Lebanese Kitchen, and she will be signing copies of her book and taking pictures at a meet and greet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. this Saturday.
Taboulie will also serve as a judge for Saturdays in the Park's second annual end of season soup competition, which will feature several creations crafted by local restaurants each striving to claim first place.
Also featured this Saturday will be a chicken barbecue cooked by the Ontario Hotel. The chicken is scheduled to be done around 10:30 a.m., according to organizers.
"We are so truly blessed to have such an event in our community," said Saturdays in the Park with Chobani organizer Mindy Chawgo.
"Bringing our local vendors together in our city and helping to support them and their business only makes our city all the more amazing."
As always, all of the event's weekly vendors will be in the park offering a little something for everybody at the market.
"Norwich has so much to offer," continued Chawgo. "What we bring to downtown gives the whole experience of fall on a Saturday morning: great products, great music, great people, and a great community."
Saturdays in the Park with Chobani takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Norwich's West Park.
