Norwich teen sends incriminating letters from correctional facility

NORWICH – A 19-year-old accused of selling heroin was remanded back to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on Monday after her jail letters were presented in court.


The letters indicated the defendant, Samantha Jo Clipston, of Norwich, wrote about wanting to be released so she could sell drugs, said Chenango County Court Judge Frank B. Revior Jr.


During the arraignment, Judge Revoir asked 19-year-old Clipston, if she knew all letters written inside the correctional facility were read before being sent out. Clipston answered yes, and acknowledged she knew her own letters were being read.
