Purple Tornado bowlers clinches first place in East Division

NORWICH – Norwich took down division and long-time school rival Oneonta Tuesday afternoon with 5-0 match win to clinch first place in the STAC East Division.
Norwich’s Scott Manwarren bowled a high-series 621 to lead the Purple. In his three games, Manwarren rolled a 194, a 195 and the highest game of the match, a 232.
Teammate Nick Deady finished close behind with a 599 series, including a 227 for game one of the afternoon.
All five Norwich bowlers recorded a series score over 500. Cameron Birtch ended the day with a 539 while A.J. Little scored a 574 and Dylan Gladstone with a respectable 534.
Together, the Purple Tornado bowlers combined for a pin total of 2,867 through the three games of the match.
The team will now travel to the STAC Championship Tournament on Monday, February 5. The tournament will take place at Midway Lanes in Vestal.
JV Note: Griffin Clipston finished the day with a 521 series as the Norwich’s JV also swept Oneonta.
