Quona Hudson and Friends slated perform at Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre
BAINBRIDGE – Quona Hudson and Friends, Three Singer/Songwriters, offer exciting, original entertainment at the Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre on Saturday, February 10 at 7 p.m. QUONA HUDSON’s sound is so familiar and so classic, yet you just can't quite put a finger on it. His voice is that of a gentle giant, balanced evenly between the delivery of a country crooner and the rugged grit and soul of a belting blues man. Throw in the musicianship of a seasoned guitar slinger and the power of the poet's pen, and you have a brand new take on modern American music.
Quona caught his first big break in the national songwriting scene in 2005 as a runner-up in VH1's Song of the Year contest. He has since toured clubs and festivals throughout the Northeast, leaving behind a trail of stories and songs along the way.
Coming from a long line of musicians, with family roots in the mountains of Appalachia, Quona had a guitar in his hand by the age of 6 and quickly found inspiration in his affection for Bluegrass, Americana, and Celtic music. Influenced by guitar greats such as Leo Kottke, Eric Clapton, and Michael Hedges, and the vocal styling of Gregg Allman, Levon Helm, and Van Morrison, he has carved his place among the next generation of American roots musicians.
DANA TWIGG, is a songwriter from West Groton, New York. "Twigg's raspy vocals and timeless approach to songwriting pays homage to country, indie, and folk artists from throughout the past century while maintaining a modern approach to production that keep his music relevant to all generations. He has traveled from Brooklyn to San Francisco, from Austin to Atlanta, and back home in support of his original music."
"(His) music is absolutely consistent with the man: firm, assertive, warm, muscular, rugged, almost handsome, mysterious, poetic. Straightforward acoustic guitar, no-nonsense vocals, honest delivery, instrumentation bolsters the songs appropriately. The songs tell it like it is and let you decide for yourself what it means."
After finishing up his debut, 15 Hours in Manhattan, Twigg played gigs throughout the Northeast for the better part of a year then entered the studio with AJ Strauss to start work on his second full length; Morning Light is a Friend of Mine. The album was put together over the course of a few months in Strauss' studio and a new sound for Twigg was born, incorporating a number of different instruments to give each song its own personality and to bring the album full circle. His most recent recording, Better View, was released on Henny One Records. For more information visit his website at http://www.danatwigg.com/.

In addition to great entertainment, there’s always a special treat when you come to musical events at the Town Hall Theatre. Before the show, enjoy music played on the theatre’s residence organ built in 1933 and one of only five Æolian/Skinner residence organs ever built for upstate New York, and the only one known to be intact and in playable condition. Popcorn, popped with real butter in their vintage 1940’s popcorn machine, is available, as well as home baked goods, freshly brewed coffee, soda and bottled water.
Doors open at 6 pm and all performances are open seating. Tickets are available at the door or you may reserve ahead by calling 607-288-3882. Also make sure to stop in the art gallery that evening. The gallery is open at 6 pm before the show through intermission and is free to the public. The artists are available to meet and answer questions.
