Tap into Spring: Maple Celebration at Oxford Farmers’ Market
OXFORD – Ready to bid farewell to winter? Come tap into spring with a celebration of its sweetest harvest—maple syrup—this Saturday, April 7, at the final indoor Oxford Winter Farmers’ Market of the season, 10 am to 1 pm, at the Parish House Community Center of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Main Street in Oxford.
Maple is one of the most delectable products of our region, helping to signal the advent of spring. Freshly made 2018 maple syrup, candy, sugar, sugar coated-nuts, and maple cream will be offered by local producers Vigus Enterprise, Mead’s Maple Products, and Walling’s Maple Syrup.
The chefs from the Bohemian Moon will return to prepare a very special Local Lunch of Korean stir fry over jasmine rice, with a choice of pork & vegetables or vegetarian. And George Anderson will be performing his original compositions throughout the day.
And for all those who missed the Community Seed Swap in March, it has been extended into April. Seed swapping is a great way to make use of unused seeds, to learn about new varieties from fellow gardeners, and to share hearty heritage seeds (some saved for generations). Packets, labels and supplies will be provided, as well as seed catalogs to peruse and books pertaining to organic gardening, composting, and wild foraging.
Join your neighbors to celebrate the coming of spring and stock up on produce, baked goods, kitchen staples,
