Norwich Winterguard looks to continue season success at Circuit Championships Saturday
NORWICH – The Norwich Winterguard is traveling to East-Syracuse Minoa High School for the Mid-York Colorguard Circuit Championships on Saturday, April 7, as they are proud to present their 2018 program titled, “Imagination: A Tribute to Bob Ross.”
The guard had been undefeated for seven straight weeks and hopes to continue their streak. The group;s scheduled time to present on Saturday is at 4:34 p.m.
Bob Ross was an American painter, art instructor, and television host of the PBS series, “The Joy of Painting.”
With his soft voice and permed afro, Bob Ross went from being a public television personality in the 1980's and 90's to an internet celebrity in the 21st Century as he is popular on YouTube and many other websites.
The Norwich guard would like to dedicated their 2018 program to the late Billy Klingensmith.
Billy was a huge part of the Mid-York Colorgaurd Circuit for years and he inspired everyone he worked with or preformed for. He continues to be missed dearly by everyone that knew him.
Under the direction of Amy Preston, the group is also receives assistance from the Assistant Director Jessica Richards as well as other staff members David Bowen and Amanda Catapano. Their music is arranged by Chris Calhoun.
On Saturday, take the drive to ESM School and join the Norwich Winterguard on their journey through the creative mind of Bob Ross. Relive “The Joy of Painting” together.
