Morris man arrested in alleged Memorial Day stabbing

NORWICH – On Monday a Morris man was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff's Office for assault in the first degree, a class B felony, after allegedly stabbing a victim in the town of Norwich during an altercation.


A sheriff's investigation into the assault, that left a victim with stab wounds, led to the arrest of Philip C. Cuda, 45, of Morris.


Chenango County District Attorney Joseph McBride said the victim suffered serious injury. A release from the Chenango County Sheriff's Office said the victim was initially transported to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital before being transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.
