2018 Chenango Chargers spring soccer season is full of early success
OXFORD – The 2018 spring soccer season has proven successful for several teams and age brackets for the Chenango Chargers.
The Charger’s boys under-19 team, coached by Dan O’Reilly and Julian Drelich, currently hold a 5-1 record while the under-14 girls team, Chargers Lightening, is nipping at the heels of first place in their division. The under-12 boys team have racked up a 5-1 record and is tied for first place in their division.
The under 19 boys age bracket realized six consecutive wins until last Tuesday when they suffered a 4-1 loss to the Calico Warriors from Oneonta at the Emerson Soccer Complex in Oxford. “The boys have had an exceptional season,” said Coach Drelich. He continued, “our defensive players are a major reason we have been successful so far.”
Chargers Lightning, have posted a 2-0-5 record, good enough for second place and within striking distance of the top spot with one game to go. The under-14 girls’ bracket has 32 players coming from the towns of Oxford, Norwich, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton, Harpursville and Sherburne.
