NORWICH – A three-car accident occurred in Norwich on Monday, and New York State Police say it was caused by a single car following too closely.

At 11:29 a.m., on Route 12 in Norwich, a vehicle making a right turn from the north bound lane was struck from behind.

Traffic along route 12 was closed for approximately an hour and a half as crews removed the disabled vehicles and debris.

State police said the vehicle that was struck spun around and eventually hit another vehicle.
