Norwich police investigation nabs two over drug felonies
NORWICH – Law enforcement executed a no-knock search warrant on Friday, and two Norwich residents were charged with drug related crimes.
• Andres R. Figueroa, 37, of Norwich, was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and first-degree criminal nuisance, a class E felony.
• Lourdes O. Medina, 46, of Norwich, was charged with first-degree criminal nuisance, a class E felony.
According to police, during the months of May and June, Figueroa sold cocaine out of an apartment shared by himself and Medina on North Broad Street in Norwich.
The Norwich Police Department said the search warrant executed on Friday was signed by Chenango County Court Judge Frank Revoir Jr.
"The Norwich Police Department and Chenango County Sheriff's Office worked closely with the District Attorney's Office throughout the investigation," stated the police department.
After being charged both individuals were remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility, with Figueroa being remanded on $50,000 bail, and Medina on $20,000 bail.
Figueroa and Medina are scheduled to appear in Norwich City Court on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
