Summer events at Oxford Memorial Library
OXFORD – Summer Reading has kicked off at the Oxford Memorial Library, and they have a lot of things planned for this summer.
Come down to make a wind chime at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 12 to help you hear the music in the air around you. Everyone is welcome, and supplies will be provided by the Library. The craft is as simple as stringing beads and tying knots, so, little children can participate with a little help from an adult.
Friday, July 13 at 3 p.m. the Library will be showing Pitch Perfect 3, rated PG-13.
“Following their win at the world championship, the now separated Bellas reunite for one last singing competition at an overseas USO tour, but face a group who uses both instruments and voices.” (Imdb.com) Admission is free.
Snacks and drinks will be available for $1.00 or less each, or you can bring your own. Joe and Vinney’s in Oxford is donating free pizza, that will be available on a first come first serve basis.
The Library will have Thursday Morning Story Time at 10am on Thursdays throughout the summer. There will be lots of fun books, songs, dances and crafts for the little ones to enjoy. All ages are welcome, even the little babies.
Wednesdays, the Library’s Youth Services Coordinator, Jess, will be over at 6 on the Square promoting the Library, and hosting Karaoke and Lip Sync Battles at 6:30pm throughout July. Admission is your Library card, or $1.00. You can either participate or you can just watch. Either way, it will be a fun time.
If you have any questions, or to find out about other programs coming up this summer, please call the Library at 843-6146, check out the Oxford Memorial Library Youth Services and Oxford Memorial Library Facebook, or go to http://oxfordmemoriallibrary.org.
