County enters agreement for emergency communications service
CHENANGO COUNTY – County emergency operations may see improvements in communications during times of crisis, thanks in part to an agreement between county officials and a company called Mutualink.
On Monday, the Chenango County Board of Supervisors approved a no-cost agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services to use Mutualink Edge, a communications system that allows emergency response agencies to securely communicate in real time.
The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) has the hardware, software and subscription for the service which it's temporarily loaning to New York State counties for no charge.
