NORWICH – The Norwich Community Soup Kitchen entered its eighth year of providing free dinner to anyone in need on Tuesday, an opportunity anyone can take advantage of on any Tuesday night through the end of May.
Every Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m., St. Bartholomew's and St. Paul's soup kitchen will serve free, hot meals to anyone at St. Bartholomew Parish Center located at 81 East Main Street in Norwich.
Although dubbed a soup kitchen, the Norwich Community Soup Kitchen provides entire dinners, complete with a dessert. At its first dinner of 2018, the menu was sausage, baked beans, tossed salad, french fries, and ice cream with cookies.
Norwich Community Soup Kitchen organizers say next week's entree will be barbecue chicken.
Anyone is invited to have dinner at the Norwich Community Soup Kitchen, regardless of if they are a Norwich resident.
Additionally, the soup kitchen is completely spearheaded by volunteers and anyone interested in lending a hand is encouraged to do so.
