Trojans’ use 3 goals to move into Class C semifinals; Storm’s season ends after loss by No. 1 Lansing

GREENE – The Section IV Class C boys soccer tournament saw a quarterfinals game at Greene as the host Trojans, the No. 2 seed of the bracket, took on the seventh-seeded Southern Cayuga Chiefs.

Despite the Greene offensive pressure for the first 40 minutes of play, the half ended with no score on the board, leaving the second half to determine which of the two teams was going to move on.

The Trojans’ River McCumiskey changed the score to open the scoring in the half. With 38:48 on the clock, McCumiskey fired a free kick in the direction of the goal. The ball found its way into the back of the net, giving Greene the 1-0 lead.
