The first heavy snow of the season began Thursday evening and brought accumulations of 8 to 12 inches to Chenango County overnight. A winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service at Binghamton was in effect until 10 a.m. Friday, calling for another one to three inches of snow. Snow removal workers and residents of Chenango County were out in full force Friday morning working to clean things up for the morning commute.
