Man accused of rape at knifepoint facing felony charges
NORWICH – Eight were indicted on felony charges including a man who allegedly tied up, raped, and recorded a victim in New Berlin.
• Dustin C. Freeman was indicted on first-degree rape, a class B felony, two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act, class B felony, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony, first-degree unlawful surveillance, a class D felony, and second-degree unlawful surveillance, a class E felony.
According to his indictment, Freeman raped a victim on December 5 at 26 Genesee Street, after tying her up and holding her at knife point. It states he recorded the rape on his phone for sexual gratification, and on the same day sold cocaine.
• Austin M. Demorier was indicted on third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony, aggravated driving while ability impaired by drugs with a child in the car, a class E felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
His indictment states that during the month of July Demorier sold fentanyl in the City of Norwich, and on July 27 was arrested by police after driving in the City of Norwich with a 15-year-old boy in his vehicle, while under the influence of amphetamine, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
• Michael A. Pierce was indicted on third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class B felony, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony.
Allegedly, during the month of October, Pierce sold cocaine in the City of Norwich, and on October 23 while in the City of Norwich, he possessed a large quantity of cocaine and meth with the intent to sell it.
• Arzou W. Hami was indicted on menacing a police officer or peace officer, a class D felony, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor, and resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
Her indictment states on November 11, in the Town of Coventry, Hami threatened a New York State Trooper with an exacto-knife and advanced towards the trooper with the knife overhead. It states she then pulled away from the trooper and refused to comply with verbal commands.
• Michael J. Perry was indicted on second-degree assault, a class D felony, and third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor.
According to his indictment, Perry was incarcerated at the Chenango County Correctional Facility when he shoved a door into a correctional officer and slammed her into a table.
• Nathan L. Pixley was indicted on fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony.
On October 17, while in the Village of Greene, Pixley allegedly possessed 31.4 grams of meth in a clear glass container and attempted to dispose of it when stopped by police by throwing it out of his vehicle.
• Halie B. Graham was indicted on first-degree criminal nuisance, a class E felony.
Graham allegedly allowed individuals to gather in her residence for meth transactions, and benefited monetarily by doing so.
• Calvin L. Burlingame was indicted on two counts of third-degree burglary, a class D felony.
According to his indictment, in November 2016, April 30, 2017, June 9, 2017, and June 27, 2017 Burlingame entered the home of another person and stole various items including tools, a doghouse hunting blind, a McCulloch chainsaw, a Yard Machine push mower, a cast aluminum cooking grill, various pots and pans along with hand tools.
