Lady Vikings have tough night shooting in league loss

OTSELIC – Vikings head coach stated that her team didn’t play well against Brookfield Thursday night but the team from Otselic Valley didn’t show any signs of giving up either in their 62-17 loss to the Lady Beavers.

OV struggled to put the ball in the basket as they took 48 shots from the floor, making just six of their attempts. In the middle two quarters, the Vikings recorded three points in each.

Despite the tough shooting night, the Lady Vikings displayed spurts of positive actions that Graham was happy about in the contest.

The Beavers opened up a big lead in the first quarter, going on a 26-6 run during the eight minutes. Brookfield’s Maddy Kupris scored 16 of her team’s points but was held by Otselic Valley’s defense to just nine points in the final three quarters.

Brookfield finished with three scorers in double figures. Kupris ended the game leading all scorers with 25 while teammate Jaelyn Vleer-Elliott tallied 16 and Marissa Kupris scored 12.

The Vikings were led by Gracie Costa’s six points in the loss.
