41st Winter Living Celebration at Rogers Center this weekend

SHERBURNE – The 41st annual Winter Living Celebration at Rogers Environmental Education Center will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday.

Hosted by Friends of Rogers and Blueox Energy Products & Services, Inc., the 41st Winter Living Celebration will include a number of old favorites and new attractions for people attending the free community event.

Activities at the celebration will include campfire s'mores, horse-drawn sleigh rides (or wagon rides), ice fishing, and other winter crafts, weather permitting.

The Susquehanna String Band, Environmental Conservation Officers, Forest Rangers, the "Human Bird Feeder", Boy Scouts' Winter Camping, and the Ice Farm sculptures will also be in attendance Saturday.

Area Boys Scouts will share their on-site winter camping experience. Interactive live demonstrations will be presented on cross-cut sawing, ice-fishing, and fly-tying with Trout Unlimited. Weather permitting, free cross-country skiing and snowshoeing will be available.

While the event is free to attend and open to the public, Friends of Rogers staff said donations are appreciated to support future operations at the organization.
