Jackson, Lull win Section IV awards from NIAAA

BINGHAMTON – Unadilla Valley’s stand-out basketball player and three-sport athlete Andrew Jackson received the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Student-Athlete Scholarship Award for Section IV at a luncheon in Binghamton on Thursday, February 14.

In accordance with National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), the purpose of the scholarship is, “...to promote, facilitate and increase the knowledge and understanding of the vital role of interscholastic athletics in the educational system. This scholarship program aims to foster and recognize the partnership between the NIAAA and secondary education, and recognize the distinguished scholastic, leadership and sportsmanship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student’s life.”

Jackson was selected as the male student-athlete of the section to win this scholarship from the NIAAA based on his essay submission that explained in his own words, the “Life Principles Learned Through Sports.”
