BGA’s Petrutoni places 17th at state indoor championships
STATEN ISLAND – Bainbridge-Guilford-Afton was represented by Nick Petrutoni at the New York State Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Complex on Staten Island over the weekend.
The BGA senior took 17th for after a best distance of 20 feet-9 inches. There were a total of 32 jumpers in the event.
Mount Sinai’s Kenneth Wei took first place with a jump of 23 feet-5.5 inches.
Petrutoni will look to break his outdoor personal best of 19 feet-8 inches with his first meet starting at the end of this month. Last season as a junior, the BGA athlete placed third in at the Section IV Class C Championships and finished 12th overall at the Section IV State Qualifying meet.
Petrutoni is looking to better his performance and reach the outdoor state meet, held at Middletown High School on June 7 and 8.
