Upstate New York Chapter of National Wrestling Hall of Fame announces Class of 2019
The National Wrestling Hall of Fame of the Upstate New York State Chapter announced their new inductees into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, as well as the Lifetime Service Award winners, this year’s recipients of the Outstanding American Award, and the Stanbro Media Award. The announcement came earlier this week.
Tim Jenks, former head coach for the Greene Trojans’ wrestling program for 33 years, is among those who will be honored as Lifetime Service Award winner, as well as an induction into the Hall of Fame during the September 22 ceremony held at the Double Tree Hotel in East Syracuse.
Carl Koenig, President of The Upstate New York Chapter said that the group is committed to the core goals of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame which are:
(1) Recognizing excellence in wrestling, (2) Preserving the rich and colorful history of wrestling in New York and (3) Inspiring future generations of New Yorkers to participate in one of the oldest and best sports in the world.
