Fundraiser to send Norwich students to competition

NORWICH – Norwich community members have kicked-off a campaign to raise funds in an effort to send two Norwich High School students to the Distributive Education Club of America (DECA) International Career Development Competition in Orlando, Fla. at the end of April.


Established in 1946, DECA is “a youth organization for American and Canadian high school and college students interested in business, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship.”

Norwich High School seniors Ryan Sanford and Kegan Wright earned eligibility to compete in the DECA International Career Development Competition after placing first in the regional DECA competition in Syracuse, and third at the DECA State Career Conference in Rochester in the highly competitive Financial Services Team Decision Making category, competing against 57 other teams in the state.


In addition to their placing third at the states competition, both Sanford and Wright received Top 10 medals for Role Play and Top 10 Overall, while Sanford also received a medal for his Top 10 Test Score.
