Purple Tornado end of season banquet sees 7 players win team awards

The Norwich Boys Basketball team hosted their annual end of season banquet at the Canasawacta Country Club Monday night. Head coach Tom Collier handed out several awards to the young men for their effort this season. Skylar Wenzel (far left) and Marcus Cashman were named the season’s Most Valuable Players. Cashman was also awarded the Defensive Player award with teammate Mujuni Mutabiilwa receiving the same honor. JT Vinal was given three different awards; the Best All-Around Player, Best Teammate and the Man in Charge Award. Carson Maynard (center) also earned Best All-Around Player while Mutabiilwa also awarded the Best Teammate Award. Jon Clarke and Thomas Flanagan were named the Most Improved Player awards. Also pictured is senior Thomas Parrella Norwich finished the year with a 13-7 record and made it to the Section IV Class B semifinals.
