Two people charged with selling heroin, Norwich police seek third suspect

NORWICH – The Norwich Police Department and the Chenango County Sheriff's Office continued their investigation into the sale of heroin in the City of Norwich Thursday morning culminating in the arrest of two individuals.


Linda E. Akins, 40, and Dan Coleman, 34, both of 25 Clinton Street, Apt. 1E in Norwich, were charged with first-degree criminal nuisance, a class E felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.


According to law enforcement, the first-degree criminal nuisance charges allege that both Akins and Coleman knowingly conducted or maintained a premise or place where people came or gathered for purpose of engaging in the unlawful sales of controlled substances.


Officials said in this case, the controlled substance was heroin.
