Pitchers shine in both the Bobcats and Trojans shutout victories

SIDNEY – Lady Bobcats’ pitcher Morgan Neidig allowed just two hits in a a complete-game shutout victory over host Sidney Tuesday afternoon. Her teammates supplied the offense as Bainbridge-Guilford tallied 11 runs in the contest.
Neidig finished the game in the circle with six strikeouts and allowed just two walks. Her defense backed her up in the field as the Bobcats did not commit a single error.
B-G’s second batter of the game, Ashley Mathews, hit a solo shot to centerfield to give the visiting team a 1-0 lead.
With a walk and a single by Kassidy Davy, Alexis Carr saw two runners out there for her to bring in. She stepped up to the plate and ripped a hard ground ball up the middle of the infield that ended up out in centerfield. Bailey Hart scored on the play to give Carr a RBI single.
Sidney ended the inning with Amber Rogers striking out a Bobcat batter and getting Kori Thornton to ground out to the third baseman.
Bainbridge-Guilford added at least one run to their score in the second, fourth, sixth and seventh innings and produced 16 hits in the contest.
Davy and Alexis Carr led the Bobcats at the plate, going 3-for-5 for the afternoon. Carr ended the day with three RBIs.
Mathews went 2-for-4 and added a double to her stat line as she finished with two RBIs also. Alli Miller and Hart also recorded two hits in the game and both scored two runs for the Bobcats.
Rogers had four strikeouts and two walks in the loss for Sidney.
Bryleigh Beaucht, Hannah Gray and Tiana Savino each had one hit for the Warriors.
Bainbridge-Guilford heads to New Berlin Thursday afternoon to take on the Unadilla Valley Storm. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Greene 15, Unadilla Valley 0
GREENE – The Trojans’ ace on the pitching rubber Olivia Kennedy threw her second straight no-hitter in a 15-0 win over the Unadilla Valley Storm Tuesday afternoon.
Kennedy also helped her own cause when she knocked a two-run home run in the bottom of the second. She went 1-for-2 with two RBIs in the batter’s box while recording 12 strikeouts in the circle. She allowed four base runners due to walks and a hit batter throughout the game.
Greene tallied six runs in the first inning and added another three in the second to lead 9-0. The only inning the Trojans were unable to produce any runs was in the third.
McKenna Sergi led Greene at the plate with three hits in four trips to the plate, one resulting in a double.
Payton Yahner and Alex Brown also had multiple hits in the game. Yahner joined teammate McKenzie Scott to each score three runs in the contest.
While totaling 10 hits for the game, the Trojans racked up 25 stolen bases. Both Scott and Sergi led with six apiece and Yahner added four while four other Greene players tallied two each.
Isabella Russo took the loss for Unadilla Valley surrendering 15 runs over five innings. She struck out two.
Meegan White, Russo and Teresa Burgharct each recorded a walk while Jenna Hitt was the player who was hit by a pitch.
Unadilla Valley (0-1) hosts Bainbridge-Guilford Thursday afternoon while Greene (2-0) travels to Delhi. Both games are at 4:30 p.m.
