Norwich Fire Department and New Berlin's Annual Easter Egg Hunts slated for Saturday
NORWICH – The annual Easter Egg Hunts held by the Norwich Fire Department's Volunteer Maydole Company and Village of New Berlin are scheduled for this Saturday, and children of all ages are invited to attend both events.
Maydole Company's Easter Egg Hunt will occur at 10 a.m. Saturday, at West Park.
The Village of New Berlin's egg hunt will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Hyde Park.
According to Village of New Berlin Clerk Kelly Anderson, there are no age restrictions on child participation, and in the case of inclement weather the event will instead occur at the Unadilla Valley High School Gymnasium.
"We're still on track for the hunt to happen at the park this Saturday," said Anderson. "Our DPW guys have done a fantastic job this year, they've built new garbage cans as well as new benches and we can't wait for this event."
She said this is one of the village's favorite events, and previous Village of New Berlin Youth Commissioner Haywood Edwards organized the preparations to make things easier for the new board members.
"We really appreciate the work Haywood is putting into making this year one of the best Easter Egg Hunts at Hyde Park," said Anderson. "Hopefully New Berlin families will come to the event and have a great time."
She said Unadilla Valley National Honor Society members will help fill and hide the Easter Eggs on the day of the event.
