Oxford Rt. 12 bridge to be demolished in year-long replacement project

OXFORD – Traffic is now being diverted over a temporary bridge along State Highway 12 over Bowman Creek, just south of the Village of Oxford, as crews work on a long-term replacement.


The New York State Department of Transportation has begun the year-long process of demolishing the old bridge and building a new one, in the meantime motorists will use a temporary one built nearby.

According to Chenango County Emergency Operations Center Representative A Wesley Jones, this project is located a quarter mile north of the intersection with South Oxford Bridge Road.
