CHENANGO COUNTY – The Greater Chenango Cares Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) event is scheduled to provide no cost medical, dental, vision, and veterinary services in July, but officials said over 100 volunteers are still needed to make it happen.

The Greater Chenango Cares event is scheduled for July 11 to July 20 at the Norwich high school and middle school campuses.

Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) is a Department of Defense military training opportunity, exclusive to the United States and its territories, that delivers joint training opportunities to increase deployment readiness.

Officials said similar events were held in Norwich in 2015 and 2016 providing approximately $2.3 million worth of medical and veterinary services to over 4,000 patients at no cost to participants.
