Chenango County to celebrate Independence Day

NORWICH – This year’s 4th of July celebration will be held at the Chenango County Fairgrounds with food stands, a demolition derby, and a concert planned along with a nighttime fireworks display.


According to Event Organizer Terry Potter, the celebration will begin at 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, at the Chenango County Fairgrounds. The King’s Smash’em Crash’em Demolition Derby will begin at 4 p.m., and immediately following the derby there will be a live concert performed by Cassidy Lynn. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.


“We’re really excited about this year’s 4th of July celebration,” said Potter. “Besides the main events, we’ll also have approximately 30 vendors.”

He said the event will also kick off this year’s Toys for Tots campaign, and there will be a collection and donation box at the event.
