North Norwich primary decided by a single vote
NORTH NORWICH – A North Norwich Republican primary was decided by a single absentee vote earlier this month, breaking a prior tie vote, and granting Timothy C. Brown party backing.
The original primary race in the Town of North Norwich left Timothy C. Brown and Robert E. Wansor tied for the supervisor position at 51 to 51.
According to Democratic Party Commissioner Carol Franklin, this year’s primaries saw low voter turnout, and while the North Norwich race was impacted by absentee voters, none of the other primary results were.
“Absolutely every vote counts,” said Franklin. “We have had town races that have been decided by a single vote, very much like this one has been.”
