$45,000 bail set in stabbing case

NORWICH – A Norwich man facing felony assault charges after he allegedly stabbed a victim who confronted him for stealing loose change from a parked car, appeared in Chenango County Court Friday to request bail be set in his case.


Gary L. Nichols Jr., 39, of Norwich, was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, petit larceny, trespass, and first-degree escape.


Due to his previous felony conviction he had to appear in Chenango County Court to request bail.


Chenango County Court Judge Frank Revoir set bail at $45,000 cash.
