NORWICH – Sherburne native Dudley Frasure made his living weaving  Adirondack pack baskets using organic Chenango County materials, primarily white ash. His work was sold throughout Canada and the United States. A highly sought-after instructor, he taught basket-weaving techniques in many national museums, and was featured in a documentary filmed by the Library of Congress.


His and many other exhibits will be opening for  “Chenango County in Fifty Stories,” taking place from noon to 2 p.m. at the Chenango County Historical Society, 45 Rexford Street in Norwich.
