Hundreds turn-out for 'Amelia’s Voice,' in support of domestic violence awareness

OXFORD – Saturday morning, hundreds of people gathered at Lafayette Park for a 5k-run in remembrance of Amelia Wakefield and to raise awareness of domestic abuse in our community.


The 16-year-old Oxford youth died of a gunshot wound on May 3, in the Town of Smithville. The Chenango Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Cody D. Coleman for her murder, saying the two had a relationship. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is awaiting his day in court.
