B-G to make 4th straight Section IV Championship appearance

Bobcats defeats Tioga in determining set


CANDOR – A deciding tiebreaker set between the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats and the Tioga Tigers ended the a night filled with volleyball pool play. B-G defeated Tioga 25-17 in the one-set match, sending the Bobcats to their fourth straight Class D Section IV Championship game.

The top four teams each played two games against the other three and the two teams with the best record were going to punch their ticket to the championship.

Top-seed and host Candor went undefeated in the pool play action, winning all six games to secure a spot in the championship game early.

As the host team beat the other three teams, Bainbridge-Guilford finished with a record of 3-3. The Bobcats split with Tioga – the third seed in the bracket – and topped No. 4 Union Springs in both sets of the match.

The Tigers did the same as B-G, finishing 3-3 on the night.
