And the week 10 winner is...

The winner of the final week of the 2019 Evening Sun Football Contest is Ray Figary Sr. of Norwich.
In a crazy week of both college football and NFL upsets, Figary correctly guessed 13 of the 20 games. Greg Campbell of Oxford also had 13 correct, bringing the tiebreaker game into effect. Both Figary and Campbell had Georgia as the winning team, but the Norwich native had a final score of 40 points combined while Campbell had 59 total points.
The wild week caused a big shift in the final standings for the weekly pickers who sponsor the page throughout the season. Kevin Walsh of the Parker-Walsh Team and Meagan Schulz – the Evening Sun Sports Editor – had been battling for the top spot for several weeks as Walsh had led for most of the season.
Andy Lagoe of Gilligan’s moved up from fourth place to first with 14-6 week, taking the contest for the season at 139-61. Dave Shull of Nina’s, who had been in the top five all year long, slid into second place after a 12-8 week to end the season at 138-62.
Walsh and Schulz finished tied for third with a final record of 137-63 after Walsh went 6-14 and Schulz had a week 10 record of 9-11.
Finishing fifth was Dave Cirello of Park Place Sports Bar and Grill. With his .500 week, Cirello ended with an overall record of 131-69. Gary Tackabury and Mike Grant, both of Matthew’s Ford and Quick Lane of Chenango County, tied for sixth place with Sean Miller of Greene Bowlodrome. All three ended at 130-70.
After entering week 10 in fifth place, a rough week moved Mallory Franklin of Autumn Meadows down to ninth place. Franklin finished with an overall record of 129-71.
James McDaniel of The Sherburne News ended in 10th place at 118-92 while Rebecca Walling of The Stadium Sports Bar and Grill closed out the season at 101-99 to round out the pickers.
The Evening Sun thanks all of the sponsors of this page each and every week for their continued support in the contest as well as the weekly submissions. The sports editor also extends a thank you to all patrons who submit throughout the season as it makes the football season fun and exciting.
