MAC and STAC Girls Soccer All-Stars named

CHENANGO COUNTY – Following the conclusion of the remarkable state championship run by the Unatego Spartans, the Midstate Athletic Conference and the Southern Tier Athletic Conference All-Stars were named last week.


Norwich's Sydney Coggins was the lone STAC All-Star team member while 31 area players were named to either the first, second or honorable mention teams of the MAC.


Coggins became the Purple Tornado's single season scoring record holder with her 25 goals scored in the 2019 campaign.


On the MAC's First Team, Kyleigh George was honored as she was a utility player for the Unadilla Valley Storm club. Her senior teammate Meegan White held down the goalkeeper position, turning away many goals attempted by her opponents.

Doing the same from the Lady Blackhawks of Oxford was keeper Lexi Kohlhepp, helping lead the Oxford team to their first post-season game in several years.


Greene's Grace Wentlent was the team's defensive leader, controlling backline of the Lady Trojans' defense to help lead her team to two big wins over Afton/Harpursville.
