NORWICH – Back-to-back first period pins by Norwich’s Andrew Brown and two-time New York State Champion Dante Geislinger helped the Purple Tornado jump out to an early in the season opener. However, in the higher weight classes, Norwich gave up 18 points due to forfeits and Windsor was able to claim the Southern Tier Athletic Conference divisional win, 44-32.
Brown took the Black Knights’ Ethan Dibble down to the mat early in the 120 pound match and worked to get position quickly in order to put the final move on for the pin. After one minute of action, Brown picked up the six points and the win for his team.
Wrestling at 126 in the season opener, Geislinger immediately took Dante Rooke down for two points and began to add to his score after holding the Windsor wrestler’s shoulder to the mat. Leading 7-1 after Rooke was able to escape the grasp of the Norwich senior, Geisliner ended the match with a pin at 1:40.

Morris was in control of the match from the start, taking down Noah Taylor of the Black Knights early in the first period.
