OXFORD – At the a recent conference, Oxford Academy Physical Ed. Instructor Margo Barrows was recognized as the 2019 Secondary Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

The award was presented to her by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AHPERD), at the groups 82nd annual conference.

According to AHPERD, the Teacher of the Year Award honors individuals for excellence in teaching and overall performance in the disciplines of physical education at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels. They must adapted physical education, health education, and dance education at the elementary, middle school and secondary levels.
