Fitness center encourages volunteerism and offers free membership

NORWICH – Evolve Fitness, located off route 12 in Norwich, is giving young adults an opportunity to have gym access in return for helping the community.


According to gym owner, Elizabeth Ulfik, The Legacy program allows youth and young adults ages 15 to 20 to exchange eight volunteer hours for a one month membership at Evolve Fitness. Volunteers can do anything from helping a local soup kitchen to shoveling an elderly persons walkway. They just need to come with a sign noted from the organization or person they assisted.


“The inspiration behind the program is my brother who passed in 2014 and his drive to give back to the community and help people.” said Ulfik. Her brother Ed, was a local police officer.
